AirHood: The Making of a Modern DTC Brand
I took AirHood from a successful crowdfunding launch on Kickstarter to a fully operational direct-to-consumer business on Shopify. I managed the entire product lifecycle — from campaign strategy, pricing, project timelines, bundling, and web development. Before launch, I led messaging tests to identify what resonated best with our audience. That work laid the foundation for a high-performing campaign powered entirely by social media and Google Ads.
As we prepared for the campaign, we realized we were missing one critical piece: a video that effectively showed how powerful the product was. We had beautiful photos and polished lifestyle footage, but nothing that demonstrated how much AirHood pulls the oil out of the air. Our team came up with a simple solution, a raw, unscripted video of the AirHood pulling smoke from the air.
AirHood gained strong traction and was ultimately named one of TIME’s Best Inventions of 2023.
